The specialized agencies of Tuy An district and the consulting unit have just conducted a field inspection to determine the location and boundaries in order to develop a plan for the aquaculture area at National Scenic Landscape of Yen Islet Complex (An Hoa Hai commune).
According to the agreement between the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and the People's Committee of Tuy An district, the aquaculture area in the National Scenic Landscape of Yen islet was planned in the existing farming area, in Nhon Hoi village, with an area of 20ha, an average depth of 6m, 400m from the coast and 200m from the coral reefs of the Yen islet population.
A representative of An Hoa Hai Communal People's Committee said that for a long time, at the National Landscape of Yen islet complex, more than 230 households have invested in raising about 2,700 aquatic cages, mainly lobsters. Due to the lack of infrastructure for aquaculture and the majority of farming according to local practices, the density of cages for lobster farming is quite thick, affecting the ecological environment, as well as the landscape at the scenic spots.
The planning of the aquaculture area at the National Scenic Landscape of Yen Islet Complex will contribute to ensuring the harmony between protecting landscape, environment, ecology and disease safety in the aquaculture area here as well as contributing to effectively exploiting the local tourism potentials.
